Presenting and printing

Walk an audience through a diagram on screen, or put it on paper.

Presentation mode

View ▸ Start Presentation (⌥⌘P) takes the window full-screen and steps through the document one slide at a time, zooming to frame each in turn.

Slides come from the document itself: if a canvas defines artboards, each artboard is a slide; otherwise each canvas is one slide. So the way you organise the document is the running order: no separate slide deck to maintain.

Slides cross-fade as you move between them. The diagram shown is the live canvas, so it is always current, but presentation mode is read-only: dragging, label editing, and other canvas commands cannot change the document while you present.

Leaving presentation mode restores the window. If you were already in full-screen before you started, the app leaves you there rather than dropping you out of it.

Page setup

File ▸ Page Setup… (⇧⌘P) opens the standard macOS page layout sheet: paper size, orientation and print scale. These settings are what Print uses.

Note

If the diagram must fit a page exactly, set View ▸ Canvas Size to Fixed and give the canvas the paper’s dimensions in the Inspector. See Canvas size.

Printing

File ▸ Print… (⌘P) prints the active canvas through the system print panel, where you can preview, choose a printer, or save as PDF.

An empty canvas is not printed: the status bar reports “Nothing to print” instead of sending a blank page.
